Production line for axes, hatchets and hammers
Prandi Axes is a company specialising in the manufacture of cutting and splitting tools, such as axes, hatchets, mauls and hammers. The production department consists of advanced machinery that guarantees quality and precision at every stage of the process. The great protagonist of this specialised production is the Lasco forging hammer, which allows hot forging and stamping, working the metal at very high temperatures. Strong pressure is applied to the mould to achieve the desired shape of the tool.

Prandi's mechanical workshop is complemented by a 3-axis milling machine, several conventional milling machines, a wire EDM machine, grinding machines and a tool handling equipment.
The production department is also used for contract machining of other semi-finished products.
Heat treatment furnaces for tempering
Tempering is a fundamental heat treatment in metalworking. It is carried out after the quenching process in order to optimise the properties of the material. The aim of this process is to achieve the correct hardness/tenacity ratio of the metal. Tempering involves heating the material in the furnace at different temperatures, depending on the type of metal and the customer's specific requirements.
This process guarantees the quality and reliability of the tools and improves their resistance to wear and impact.

The internal furnace measures 900x1200x1300 mm and is equipped with four high-speed burners. The maximum temperature is 500°C.
Sandblasting
The sandblaster is an essential machine for the surface cleaning of metal parts and other materials. It is used to remove contaminants such as mould residue or rust. The process is carried out by centrifugal turbines which project grit against the surface at a high speed proportional to the speed of the turbines. This impact removes the softer, friable parts of the materials, making the surface uniform and suitable for subsequent treatments such as coating.
Due to its versatility, sandblasting is used in a wide range of industries to ensure thorough surface cleaning of products. In addition to the production of axes, the system is also used for contract work.

The sandblaster has a capacity of 0.56 m3 (560 litres) with a maximum weight of 800 kg.
Epoxy powder coating
Powder coating is an increasingly popular industrial coating process known for its high quality and low environmental impact. This technique is used on metal surfaces and involves the application of coating powders based on synthetic resins, such as epoxy powders, to achieve both a decorative and protective effect.
After application, the objects are baked in an oven where the powder melts and cures to form a strong, uniform coating. This method has many advantages, including a finish that is resistant to scratches, knocks and discolouration, and often provides a high quality result with just one coat.

The system is capable of coating parts weighing up to 40 kg, with a maximum height of 1 metre, a maximum width of 40 cm and a maximum depth of 10 cm. All RAL colours are available on request.
Dip coating with dryer
Dip coating is a simple and effective technique for coating objects by completely immersing them in a paint tank. This method ensures uniform coverage and it is ideal for complex or irregular surfaces. During the process, the object is immersed and rotated in the tank, allowing the paint to cover each side. It is then transported to a drip area where the ambient humidity helps to drain excess paint before final drying. If necessary, the dip can be repeated to achieve a greater thickness.

Prandi Axes can coat metal parts weighing up to 40 kg, with a maximum height of 25 cm, a maximum width of 40 cm and a maximum depth of 10 cm. Among the most common colours we apply are BLACK, RED Ral 3000, GREY Ral 7016, BLUE Ral 5003 and ORANGE Ral 2009.
Fiber laser engraving
Fibre laser engraving is an extremely versatile and powerful marking technique, suitable for a wide range of materials including metal and leather. The laser emits a high energy density beam that is focused onto a tiny spot, vaporising or changing the colour of the material to produce high precision, indelible engravings. It is mainly used for engraving codes, logos and complex designs on surfaces. Operating at 1070 nm, it is efficient and versatile, and is particularly effective on metallic materials.

In addition to machining for internal use, we laser engrave a wide variety of parts simply from vector files, pdf or dwg. Focal length 160 with marking area Ø 140 mm. Standard 20W fibre laser.
Pad printing
Pad printing, also known as tampography, is a versatile technique for transferring graphics, lettering and decorations onto objects of any shape and material, even on irregular surfaces. It is an indirect printing process: ink is applied to a metal plate and then transferred to the object using a silicone pad. Thanks to this process, it is possible to obtain high-resolution prints even on complex objects.
The machine is also used to personalise the axe and hatchet collection and for contract work.

The print area is Ø 75 mm with this choice of colours: black, white, gold.
3D printing
3D printers are becoming increasingly popular due to their versatility and innovative potential. Prandi uses a professional large format 3D printer based on FFF (Fused Filament Fabrication) technology. The process is based on a digital file created by the customer, which the printer reproduces layer by layer to build the three-dimensional object.
Compared to traditional production methods, 3D printing is a sustainable solution as it uses only the material needed, reducing waste and allowing a high degree of creative freedom in design.
Prandi Axes uses the 3D printer mainly for its in-house and contract prototypes, which are printed in PLA.

The available print area is 705x230x190 mm. The X and Y axis calibration system ensures precision and print quality.
