Camping hatchet: a practical solution for outdoor life!

Camping axes and hatches are mightily handy. Anyone who has ever been on a camping trip and tried to collect wood for a fire, know how is important choosing the right tools.

Camping hatchets is also known as hand axes, because of its dimension. The head weighs maximum 700/800 gr (1.55/1.80 lb) and the handle is length no more than 38/40 cm (15/15.75 in), just under the length of a human arm.
The blade is usually very wide and sharp. For our german type [3.003], the blade is long 10.30 cm (4.05in); while for the yankee model [3.043.small], the blade is long 8 cm (3.15in).
In south Italy is more common another type of hatchets, called Sila hatchet [3.022]. Its name originates from the plateau located in Calabria, on the mountain chain of the Apennines and also Calabro type [3.021].

All of these hatchets are perfect for camp fire or for limbing works.
